There are a bunch of ways to make money blogging
Ad revenue, sponsored posts, sharing your knowledge, coaching, courses, eBooks, webinars
BUT a favourite among bloggers is AFFILIATE MARKETING!
Affiliate marketing is an advertising model in which a company compensates third-party publishers to generate traffic or leads to the company’s products and services. The third-party publishers are affiliates, and the commission fee incentivizes them to find ways to promote the company.
Affiliate marketing is the process of earning money (commissions) every time you promote a company’s products or services and drive a sale. You only get paid every time you drive a sale, just like a commission-only sales representative.
Now before I dive into affiliate marketing, let me tell you why you should care.
A lot more companies offer affiliate programs than you might realise.
Its more than likely 90% of your favourite brands have affiliate schemes, Ill bet MOST of the products and brands you are already promoting on your blog and socials HAVE affiliate programs!!!
SO, you need to get in on them now and stop promoting for free!
Some brands run and look after their own Affiliates, but a lot of big-name brands use Affiliate marketing networks, one of the biggest of which is AWIN.
AWIN have a HUGE range of brands and businesses, in the thousands! ~
Fashion brands such as Pretty little thing, Nasty Gal, Nike, Miss PAP, inthestyle, offspring, Ego Shoes, Michael Kors
Insurance companies, credit cards…. Confused.com, Money supermarket insurance, AXA Car Insurance, Aviva
High street brands including Boots, Paperchase and WHSmiths
Travel and leisure – EasyJet, Britannia hotels, premier inn, red letter days, experience days, even London zoo… Contiki, buyagift, legoland, lastminute.com, Europcar.
A favourite of mine for any niche is ETSY!
AWIN themselves even have an affiliate program, which I am very proudly a part of so do be sure to use the link in the description of this episode.
PLUS its freeeee to join and is perfect for ANY niche!! Sign up here!
AWIN itself is a free service to sign up to for creators and affiliates, there is however a £5 joining fee which is given back once you have earned your first approved commission! Simple!
Plus getting paid is really simple, set a minimum amount threshold for your payments and then when you’ve hit it, AWIN will automatically pay you out the next Friday.
Plus its super easy to track clicks, sales, approved and cleared commissions.
Amazon affiliates is another hugely popular option. This one is harder to make large amounts on based on click through sales alone, however there is big money to be made on Bounties.
For example, if people sign up to Amazon Music, Prime, Prime student, Kindle unlimited. Also, baby Wishlist’s or a wedding lists and if someone signs up their business with Amazon business.
You can earn between £1.50 to £8 per bounty. MOST OF WHICH you even get the commission for someone signing up to a FREE trial.
Shop Style Collective is a fave among beauty and fashion creators!
Everything fashion and beauty that you could possibly want to share, from high end luxury designer to high street fashion is on shop style! They have a great app which makes it super easy to find items, share links and track clicks and commissions.
Its not just products! A big way to make money as a affiliate is to promote products and services.
For example promoting other bloggers and creators ebooks, courses or digital goods. Gumroad and teachable are great examples of places you can do this, I earn upto 50% commission on certain products I promote on Gumroad, that can be upto £20 on certain items!
If you create a course or ebook, then sites such as Gumroad and teachable make it very simple for you to sign up affiliates to help make sales for you!
Affiliates that are ideal for bloggers – hosting sites such as site ground, blue host. Editing apps such as tailwind. HONESTLY, basically anything or anyone you promote – CHECK if they have a affiliate program and start making money!
These are just a few…
The biggest tip I can give is simply to google any brand or product + affiliate program
If you cannot find anything from a search, then reach out to the brand directly.
Don’t forget that when you sign up to affiliate program to go back through your old posts and content and update links to be affiliate links.
I have found that signing up to affiliate programs often inspire me and my content!
Other great ways to make money with affiliate links, twitter, Instagram swipe ups / link option, emails, Facebook, pinterest, in your courses or eBooks.
CHECK OUT these eBooks for a much more in depth look! Iv learnt ALOT from them!
A huge Thank you to my September Sponsors!
