I dont know about you but I LOVE puzzle games! Back in the day, I would get out the deck of cards but now I can play hundreds of puzzles on my phone, laptop or tablet anytime, anywhere.
How do you spend your down time??
Gaming isnt just consoles, you dont need to own the latest Playstation to get into gaming. ANYONE can play something, of course it can be deadly… Iv lost hours on Evermerge before and thats just on my iPad!
Maybe you enjoy puzzles, or arcade games. Games that work your brain or games which numb it, stressful games… or games to chill and play! There are a million options out there to fit any preference! Got to LOVE that there is something for everyone. I do not believe that there isn’t anyone who doesn’t enjoy gaming sometimes… as a way to unwind or to challenge yourself! Personally, I am a huge puzzle fan!! Whatever works my brain abit,
Studies have shown that playing puzzle games daily are good for your brain, they keep you sharp and improve your memory!
A personal favourite of mine is Solitaire.org…
As the name suggests there are the classic Solitaire options available including Spider, Pyramid and Klondike, if you’ve never played it, they are fantastic twists on the classic! Definitely try them!!

I reaaaally love that there is variety too!! Our attention span as adults is SO much shorter nowadays because of social media (especially TikTok for obvious reasons) so being able to flit between games keeps me entertained! Plus it keeps me off social media and mindlessly scrolling.
I am open in sharing with my audience that I have struggled with anxiety & depression, playing games distracts me when I need a little distraction. Without being anything that could hurt my mental health any more like social media. (I am sounding like it, but im definitely not anti social media!)
Solitaire not your jam? Check these games out instead!
Maybe LOGIC based games are more your thing?
1 to 25 is a FAVE of mine in the logic based games.
Its really simple, and quick to play!
The board contains 25 squares which you must all fill with numbers. You can drag a number from the side onto a square. Each number placed must go next to the previous number. That can be the square above, below, left or right as well as the four diagonal cells. Any number placed must be aligned with where it came from on the edge of the board. Numbers on the left or right must be placed along the rows. Numbers from the top and bottom must be placed vertical in their columns. The corners point diagonally across the board!
OR Hidden Objects games might be your thing?
My favourite one of those is The Palace Hotel!!
This game has 10 levels which are timed. The first level has a 4-minute time limit and each subsequent level has a 10-second shorter limit to where the final level has a 2-minute and 20-second limit
Whether you are a newbie or experienced gamer…
You deserve to unwind and have a play. Take some time for yourself, we are told so often that we need to cut down on our screen time but why not just change what we do with our screens. Instead of just scrolling through social media for hours, challenge yourself or unwind and play some games! YOU deserve it.
Let me know in the comments, where do you game? and what do you play!?
And if you like this piece, then you will LOVE these…
