London has more restaurants & bars than anyone could ever visit! You could want for anything at all and find it somewhere within 5 minutes of the nearest tube. This makes it harder for restaurants to truly stand out and shine… that’s what makes Sexy Fish even more spectacular.
I knew there was a Sexy Fish in Miami but I had no clue there was one in London! I was searching Open Table looking for a new place to try in London that was a bit special and looked fun! Somewhere to go with my bestie for dinner and drinks after the theatre, looking for a restaurant in Soho and there we found it, Sexy Fish. We could’ve spent hours scouring google, but Open Tables app saved us the time!

In the heart of Soho is this sparkling gem of a restaurant. If you’ve heard of or been to a Sexy Fish previously then I am certain you’ll know what I mean! From the moment you are greeted at the door, you feel like a VIP. Actually even before you arrive.. I called prior to our booking to change the time slightly and they must have your phone number linked to your reservation details because I didn’t have to provide any information of my own, the call was quick and simple. A small touch but made a difference.
We arrived for our reservation a little early but that was no trouble for the team. We were shown to the bar area and seated right at the bar. Looking through the menu, you can already tell they know what their doing! The cocktails are unique and their wine list extensive. We started with a crisp white and it was served to us in a very extra fish ice bucket which I got wayyy too excited by!

I was initially a bit worried about the atmosphere at the time we booked for, we booked for 6.30pm in May which means fully still light outside! From all the pictures and videos I had seen, Sexy Fish looked like somewhere perhaps best enjoyed more into the evening but boy was I pleasantly suprised. The restaurant was buzzing! Great music from a DJ, the decor makes the whole place feel glam and opulent any time of day.
The lovely bar man who served us talked us through the menu and popped our wine on our table when we sat down for dinner.

Now the food, this was one of the best meals I have had in London! Glazed pork belly skewers with pear & ginger are to die for, and very moreish.. I very almost ordered a sexing portion. Then there was a steamed seabass with chilli and coriander which just melted in the mouth, and the broth with it was so flavoursome.

Some other highlights were the whole baby chicken booth hummus and yuzu and the sweet potato with coconut wasabi. We shared all the dishes between 2 of us, which worked out perfectly since it meant we got to try a bit of everything! If I had to pick a favourite.. I think it would be the pork belly. When a restaurant can do pork belly THAT WELL, you can trust everything else that’s coming out to you will be delicious also.

The service was absolutely brilliant, we felt well attended too but never rushed or crowded. Everyone we were served by was professional but personable. I absolutely will be back, next time maybe for some late night eats with the girls. And when I am back in Miami next year, I’ll be visiting that location also!
And I can’t recommend you try it enough!!
